House by the Sea
Someday I’ll live in a house by the sea
Where nothing bad will
ever happen to me.
I’ll look out on the ocean
As it storms in perpetual commotion.
Throwing waves upon my shore
Trying to batter down my door
Spitting squalls and hurricane wails
All in vain to no avail.
For safe I will be,
in the house by the sea.
I won’t ever tire
of my home by the sea.
There one day I’ll expire.
Then the ocean can have me at last.
Take my hollow house
in your slippery grasp!
Sweep us away, dowse
This isolated isle until
Peace ensues and all is still.
Leave this lonely shore
A little more lonely
than it was before.
